Ride through the rules.

We check data centres and other large loads against the grid's connection rules before they apply, so the engineering study you commission is the right one, done once.

  • What applies to your site
  • Whether you pass
  • What to fix first

14 AugustTransgrid's capacity allocation policy in force. Readiness tests at 30 MW.
29 OctoberAEMC final rule. Ride-through standards for large loads, NEM-wide.
5 NovemberTransgrid's recommended cut-off for connection enquiries this year.

Getting power is now the hardest part of building a data centre.

Your site Preflight The grid

Transgrid already asks NSW data centres to prove they can stay connected through a fault and recover. From 29 October, every site over 30 MW in the NEM has to show the network and AEMO the same thing, with models.

Finding out the usual way takes months and a paid engineering study. If the network comes back with conditions, you do the study again.

Preflight tells you first what applies and where you fall short. Your engineers study the right design, once.

Every trip around the top row costs a redesign, a second study and a quarter of your programme.

Where does your site land?

Drag to your connection size. The new rules switch on at 30 MW.

60MW

0 30 MW 100 MW 200

Applies at every size

  • Clean power (harmonics, flicker)
  • Protection
  • Load shedding and metering

New standards: live in NSW now, national from 29 October

  • Stay connected through voltage dips
  • Stay connected through frequency swings
  • Come back to full load after a fault
  • Detect and respond to instability
  • Provide models and data
  • Pass tests before you energise

Based on the draft rule. Final on 29 October 2026. A full screen adds your network, your build stages and your equipment.

One report, before the study.

Before the engineering study, not instead of it. Days instead of months, and one study instead of two.

What applies to you

The rules your site triggers, with the source for each one.

Whether you pass

Your design against those rules: pass, fail, or not enough information yet.

What to fix first

The gaps that would block your application, and how similar projects were treated.

Who it's for

  1. Developers with a site and no connection application yet.
  2. Consultancies that want a first pass before the study.
  3. Lenders and investors checking a project's connection risk.

How it works

  1. Send whatever site details you have. A location and a size is enough to start.
  2. Our engine runs them against the rules that apply.
  3. You get the report: what applies, what passes, what to fix.
  4. You apply once.
